Overview

THS6222 is a differential line driver amplifier with a current feedback architecture, manufactured using a proprietary high-speed silicon-germanium (SiGe) process. It is designed for wideband, high-speed, high-performance line communication (HPLC) line driver applications requiring high linearity when driving heavy line loads. The unique architecture of the THS6222 minimizes quiescent current while delivering extremely high linearity. The amplifier features an adjustable current pin (IADJ) that sets rated current consumption across multiple bias modes, enabling improved power savings without utilizing the amplifier's full performance. The shutdown bias mode further reduces power consumption in receive mode in time-division multiplexing (TDM) systems while maintaining high output impedance. The integrated 1/2 Vs common-mode buffer requires no external components, reducing system cost and saving board space. A wide output swing of 57VPP (100Ω load) with a 32V supply and current drive exceeding 650mA (25Ω load) delivers a wideband dynamic range with low distortion. The THS6222 is available in a 24-pin VQFN package with an exposed thermal pad, rated for an ambient operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
