Overview
The TPS22992x product family includes two devices: TPS22992 and TPS22992S. Each device is a single-channel load switch featuring an 8.7mΩ power MOSFET, designed to maximize power density in applications up to 5.5V and 6A. The configurable rise time provides flexibility for power sequencing and minimizes inrush current for high-capacitance loads. The switch is controlled by an enable pin (ON) that can be directly connected to low-voltage GPIO signals (V|H = 0.8V). The TPS22992x devices feature an optional QOD pin for quick output discharge when the switch is turned off, and the output fall time (tFALL) can be adjusted via an external resistor. A power good (PG) signal indicates when the main MOSFET is fully on, which can be used to enable downstream loads. Both TPS22992x devices include thermal shutdown protection to ensure protection in high-temperature environments. The TPS22992S device also integrates overcurrent protection to prevent damage when the output is shorted to ground during operation or startup.
