Overview

The TPS272C45 is a dual-channel smart high-side switch designed to meet the requirements of industrial control systems. The low on-resistance (R<sub>DS(on)</sub> of 45mΩ) minimizes device power dissipation and supports a wide output load current range of 100mA to 3A. The device provides an additional low-voltage supply (3.3V to 5V) input pin to minimize no-load power consumption. The device integrates multiple protection features, such as thermal shutdown, output clamping, and overcurrent limiting, which enhance system robustness during fault conditions such as short circuits. The TPS272C45 features an adjustable threshold current limiting circuit that improves system reliability by reducing inrush current when driving large capacitive loads and minimizing overload current. The device also supports configurable inrush current duration, enabling it to drive high-inrush-current loads (such as lamps) with higher current or rapidly charge capacitive loads. Additionally, the device provides accurate load current sensing to enhance load diagnostic capabilities for improved predictive maintenance. The TPS272C45 is offered in a 24-pin 5mm×4mm compact QFN leadless package with 0.5mm pin pitch, minimizing PCB footprint.
