The TPS6213x family are easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC/DC converters optimized for high power density applications. A high switching frequency with a typical value of 2.5MHz supports the use of small inductors, and the DCS-Control topology provides fast transient response and high output voltage accuracy. The device features a wide input voltage operating range of 3V to 17V, suitable for systems powered by Li-ion or other batteries and 12V intermediate power rails. These devices support up to 3A continuous output current (when using 100% duty cycle mode) over an output voltage range of 0.9V to 6V. The output voltage startup ramp is controlled by the soft-start pin, enabling operation as a standalone power supply or in a tracking configuration. Power sequencing can also be achieved by configuring the enable pin and open-drain power-good pin. In power save mode, these devices draw approximately 17μA of quiescent current from VIN. The devices automatically and seamlessly enter power save mode at light loads, maintaining high efficiency across the full load range. The device is shut down in shutdown mode, with a supply current of less than 2μA. The device is available in adjustable and fixed output voltage versions, in a 3mm × 3mm (RGT) 16-pin VQFN package.
