The TPS6215x series is an easy-to-use synchronous step-down DC/DC converter optimized for high power density applications. Devices in this series feature a typical switching frequency of up to 2.5MHz, enabling the use of small inductors, and leverage DCS-Control topology to deliver fast transient response and high output voltage accuracy. The series offers a wide input voltage operating range of 3V to 17V, making it suitable for systems powered by Li-ion or other batteries as well as 12V intermediate power rails. The output voltage ranges from 0.9V to 6V, supporting up to 1A continuous output current (in 100% duty cycle mode). A soft-start pin controls the output voltage startup ramp, allowing the device to operate either as a standalone supply or in a tracking configuration. Power sequencing can also be implemented via the enable (EN) pin and the open-drain power-good (PG) pin. In power-save mode, the device draws approximately 17μA quiescent current from VIN. The device automatically and seamlessly enters power-save mode at light loads, maintaining high efficiency across the full load range. In shutdown mode, the device is turned off with a supply current consumption of less than 2μA. The device is available in adjustable output voltage and fixed output voltage versions, offered in a 3mm×3mm 16-pin VQFN package (RGT).
