TI's MSP430™ series of low-power microcontrollers offers a wide variety of devices, each equipped with different peripheral sets to meet the needs of various applications. This architecture, when used in conjunction with multiple low-power modes, is optimized to extend battery life in portable measurement applications. The device features a powerful 16-bit Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) CPU that uses 16-bit registers and a constant generator for maximum coding efficiency. The DCO enables the device to wake up from a low-power mode and enter the operating mode in less than 10µs.
