TI's MSP430 series of low-power microcontrollers comes in a wide variety. Each member device is equipped with different peripheral sets to meet the needs of various applications. This architecture, when used in conjunction with multiple low-power modes, is the optimal choice for extending battery life in portable measurement applications. The device features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and a constant generator for maximum coding efficiency. The digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) enables the device to wake up from a low-power mode and enter the operating mode in less than 10μs.
